I would like to start today's post by apologizing for the lack of updates here. No excuses this time. I'll dive right into this post now.

I've just been busy going in and out of jobs, sorting out the mess that I had made earlier and just procrastinating really. I have a lot of things on my plate but nevertheless, I am still enjoying every bit of my busy schedule. You learn from your experiences every single day, don't you?! So in whatever spare time I have left, I either indulge in a little bit of cooking, travelling or reading. Earlier this week, I decided to go to my local library and pick up "Big Magic" by Elizabeth Gilbert - author of the famous book "Eat, Pray, Love".

Before buying this book, I had no idea what this book was about. I had seen the movie "Eat, Pray, Love" but had never read her book so I didn't know what to expect. The book explains the power of creativity and how your persistence and hard work for your passion forms an integral part of the journey. The journey to follow your dreams of achieving what you really came to do in life. Elizabeth thinks every person is creative and capable of turning ideas into something magical and mystifying. She explains wonderfully how rejection, doubts, time constraints can become an obstacle but it is how you can overcome that obstacle to reach your goals and succeed in life. She gives personal examples of rejection and how it DID NOT demotivate her. Instead, she became stronger and stood through the testing times to become one of the most successful writers with two renowned books that gave her fame.

My love for motivational and inspirational books undoubtedly comes from my mum. She has the same taste as me and so I know she would love this book. I am definitely going to recommend this one to her. Instances from her own life combined with her simple and straight forward writing style make this one a good read. If you need some motivation in your life rn, go buy this one, NOW!

For today's post I thought I would do a little rant on Fitness and what and who inspires me to work on my body. Fitness has come such a long way and today people are so much more conscious about their bodies and how they want to look. Honestly, literally every single person I know today is dedicated towards attaining his/her fitness goals. Whether you are playing a trainer's DVD and working out at home or are a regular at your gym, being fit is on everyone's mind right now. Knowing myself and how lazy I can be (sometimes), I find it difficult to keep up with the rigorous routines suggested by some of these top trainers. Two of my personal favorites are Tone It Up a.k.a Karena and Katrina and Blogilates. Let me warn all you beginners out there that even though their routines may seem like a cakewalk, they will BURN your body. And if they don't, it means that you ain't doing it right.

You can do whatever you want to stay fit - Dancing, Swimming, Sports, Gyming, Martial Arts, Zumba, the list is endless. Sometimes going to the gym can be a little mundane and so it is always a good idea to incorporate different routines to make each day exciting. As for me, I like going on long walks and I try to do ab exercises at home. It is about knowing what your problem area is and where you are most likely to put on weight and work on that. I tend to put on weight in my tummy so I do about 5-6 ab exercises 2 sets 20 times each. Now, I try and do this everyday and switch it up sometimes so it doesn't get repetitive.

My number one tip would be if you are just starting out, don't be brutal towards your body. Begin with a few warm up exercises followed by light ones. You will automatically build more energy and stamina to exceed your goals with regular practise.

What are your favorite forms of exercise?

I honestly cannot believe that this month is almost over! Is it just me or does Summer go by really fast?! Anyway, I'm glad this month is over and I cannot wait for July because my mom and my sister are coming down to Canada to visit me for a month! YAYY! I don't know if I can do long blog posts for you guys but I'm going to be back with so many updates!

I have never really done a favorites on my blog before and since this month was coming do an end, I thought, what better time than now. I have a mixture of beauty and lifestyle faves so let's get into this.

Becca Shimmering Highlighter in Champagne Pop

I don't think I have raved about any other product as much as this one. Jaclyn Hill's highlighter for Becca Cosmetics is undoubtedly one of my best beauty purchases. The shimmer, the pigment, the glow everything about this is just so perfect. Apply a light stroke if you want a more natural finish or swipe the f out of that highlighter to look like a goddess!

Burts Bees Refreshing Lip Balm Pink Grapefruit

Canada's bipolar weather can often give you surprises that you don't want. Even though we've had pretty sunny days, some days were rainy, cold and horrible. I have always had super dry lips so that explains why I despise cold weather. I just put on some of this lip balm underneath my lipstick/gloss/matte lipstick. It gives me the right amount of hydration and also makes my lipstick last longer.

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

Milani's baked blushes are my all time favorite drugstore blushes. I've owned the Luminoso for quite some time now but I've only reintroduced it into my makeup routine now. This is such a pretty coral color - perfect for summer or when you want your skin to look glowy. Great summer blush!

The Beaver Company Natural Deodorant Lavender

When it comes to deodorants, I've always stuck with my ever trusty Secret Clinical Strength. I decided to pick this up when I was shopping at Superstore here in Calgary. The fragrance of lavender and the non-sticky texture has made this hard to not reach out to! If you love fresh smells, this all-natural deodorant is exactly what you need to beat the summer heat!

Colorpop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Lips in Beeper
Colorpop should really sign me up as their brand ambassador as I talk about their products all the time! LOL! Jokes apart, Beeper is a great brown shade(or should I call it 'Kylie Brown shade'). Whether you're going for an all-out smokey eye look or just want to bring out your inner Kylie Jenner, try this lipstick. Looks great on all skin tones and you can wear it either in the day or night depending on what look you are going for.

Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso

I decided to include a book in my favorites because why not?! If you are active on Youtube and other social media you might already know the hype around this book. It's EVERYWHERE. I went to my local library to pick this up and she said that I'd have to wait as there were 9 holds on the book. Finally, after almost three weeks I got this book and trust me, I haven't been able to put it down since then. Sophia's unabashed personality combined with her to the point writing style is what you folks have to look out for in this one. Absolutely loved reading this and recommend it to all my career focused girls out there!

What have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments!
